EMILY + STUART || HARBOUR ISLAND, BAHAMAS

Oh my… where do I even start with this one. Emily + Stuart are some of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet. So trusting and generous to bring me out to Harbour Island, Bahamas for their incredible celebration back in June.

Harbour Island is this quaint, exotic, and remote island (1 mile X 3 miles). We took two flights, a taxi, and a ferry to get to the island. Once on the island, it is traversed only by golf cart, which is pretty much the best idea ever.

Destination weddings are always unique because I end up documenting the entire week’s festivities. Getting to know family and friends during the few days leading up to the wedding changes the dynamic completely.

Emily + Stu’s celebration started slow, which is fits perfectly with the vibe of the island. We shot prep shots + wedding party separately, then rendezvoused at the Anglican church on the island where Emily + Stu would tie the knot. This church has been on the island since the 1700’s - crazy. After the ceremony, everyone was led to the reception at the Ocean View Club via golf cart with a band in the lead.

Can we just stop for a second and talk about the details of the barefoot reception? Beautiful white tent on the beach, palm trees, cocktails out of coconuts, incredible fresh fish + steak for dinner. The soft seating + custom pillows on the dance floor added a super cozy element to the evening.

The talented team at DFW Events took care of all the small details and made sure everyone had everything they needed (even so far as making an impromptu lunch run for our team + the wedding party). Can’t thank the Ocean View Club (Charlie + Ben) enough for your kindness and accommodation during our few days on the island.

Also, props to the talented Shaun Menary who tagged along as my second shooter/golf cart driver and knocked it out of the park.
